EASIMS – innovativE trAining Solution for implementing Integrated Management Systems (IMS) in SME


  • Integrated Management Systems (IMS) help companies dealing with Quality, Environment, Safety, etc. (mainly ISO 9001, 14001/EMAS, 45001, etc.) to reduce management systems implementation and maintenance difficulties and costs.
  • These systems support companies competitiveness and strategies
  • Within EU, SMEs represent the 99% of the companies and employ 68% of workers.
  • SMEs limited human and financial resources make difficult for them to create and maintain these systems that could help them being more competitive.
  • At the moment, there is a clear lack of training courses, materials and tools helping SMEs to acquire skills & knowledge needed to efficiently internally implement an IMS.

Main objectives:

To develop innovative training tools for the IMS Manager (Manager of the IMS – Integrated Management System) and thus facilitate the IMS design and implementation.

 Two new tools aim to improve the usual training approach – based till now on norms requirements – by delivering a training course in processes management through a modular training path (platform) – and a software to facilitate the practical IMS design and implementation.

They will be useful for SME IMS Managers in any sector (manufacturing).

An application case will be developed for furniture SMEs.

Methodology and activities:

  • Validate furniture SMEs skills and knowledge needs for implementing an IMS
  • Build the IMS structure (outline) containing key processes, procedures…
  • Deliver and validate a new joint curriculum for the IMS Manager
  • Produce the training course materials (5 languages) according to ECVET principles
  • Deliver an e-learning platform with the training material integrated (pills)
  • Develop a software to facilitate the practical IMS implementation
  • Validate the output trough Pilot courses (and disseminate the results)
